Rainbow Bookshelf Troubleshooting

comment 1

Where do you put earth tones?

haha, good fucking luck.

What about other neutrals like black and white?

^^^
I guess you could put them in the middle like some idiot who has clearly never seen a rainbow did in this picture.

Why the hell aren’t there any green books?

You might notice when you are putting together your personal rainbow library that all of the IKEA photos lied to you and your color proportions are off. Maybe you should give yourself a head start and buy more green books immediately before embarking on this ill-fated quest.

I just bought a book, but the blue shelf is packed and now I have to rearrange two shelves to get this one book to go where it’s supposed to.

That’s what you agreed to when you started this. I don’t make the rules!

There’s only one shelf that can fit the oversized books.

You complete fuck up. How about you think ahead next time you buy furniture.

What if there are multiple colors in one spine?

Sort of squint until the colors blur and see what you get.

I don’t want to split up books by the same author.

None of us do, that’s why publishing companies make matching re-releases.

But I don’t want to buy a bunch of new books I already own.

How committed are you to this?

What about my magazine collection?

If you subscribe to magazines that don’t have consistently colored spines, I can’t help you.

Do you start with pink or red?

According to Photoshop, pink comes after purple and turns back into red. So. I hope you’ve been reading a lot of red things.

After having completed my bookshelf, I am now looking for a book. It has a yellow cover, but I can’t find it. Does it have a different spine color?

lol do you not memorize full book jackets?

I don’t have a visual memory and this organization system doesn’t cater to me.

Look, you don’t have to do it this way. Sure, we’re all defined by the states of our bookshelves, but yours can look as slovenly as you choose.
